JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown swept Doane University on Sunday in a pair of thrilling games.

MEN’S: Jamestown (16-5, 12-4) 109, Doane (3-14, 6-16) 105

WOMEN’S: Jamestown (14-7, 11-7) 82, Doane (4-17, 2-16) 65

In men’s action, the Jimmies battled with Doane into overtime, before eventually toppling the Tigers.

Before reaching overtime, Jamestown had to come up with a defensive stop on a last-second shot by Doane. In OT, the Jimmies used multiple big shots from Jack Talley and Mason Walters, and three free throws courtesy of Allante’ Pickens pick up the victory.

In total, Jamestown was led by Mason Walters who finished with 32 points and 10 rebounds on 14-20 shooting. Senior Jack Talley had 31 points, 9 rebounds while also making 8-11 three-pointers. Marc Kjos finished with 10 assists and five points.

Off the bench, Allante’ Pickens scored 18 points, including the game-clinching free throws. Freshman Cole Woodford was 4-7 from three and collected 16 points.

As a team, the Jimmies shot 58.5% from the field, and 54.5% from long range. Jamestown also went 15-16 from the free throw line for 94%.

During the women’s game on Sunday afternoon, Noelle Josephson had a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Jimmies.

Josephson, a junior from Ramsey, MN, entered the Jimmie record books as well. With her seven steals, she moved into fifth all-time for career steals at 184. Josephson passed Colleen Anderson, who garnered 182 steals during her Jimmie career. She now sits just two steals back from fourth, which is held by Cindy Slusher.

Kia Tower finished with 20 points on 8-13 shooting. Tower also dished out seven assists while in addition to three rebounds. Audrey Rodakowski bagged 15 points and four rebounds on 7-8 shooting. Macy Savela scored 14 points and had five rebounds and three assists.

Senior Correy Hickman finished with 8 points, with two made threes. Emma Stoher capped the game off with eight assists and four rebounds, as well as four points.

Jamestown is back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Briar Cliff. The women’s game will tip first at 6:00 pm.
