JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown senior Grace Hegerle scored a season-high 24 points as the Blue Jays defeated Dickinson 79-55 on Saturday afternoon.

Jamestown used a big first half to propel themselves to victory over the Midgets, scoring 51 points in the first 18 minutes of action. The Blue Jays held Dickinson to just 32% shooting from the field in the first half and got major production from Hegerle, Annie Nabwe, and Katie Falk.

Despite fouling out at the 8:32 mark in the second half, Nabwe scored 12 points and had five rebounds as well as multiple blocked shots and steals. Sophomore Katie Falk had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Dickinson cut the lead down to twelve with four minutes to go before the end of the first half, but the Blue Jays went on a 9-0 run immediately after that and ended up leading by 22 at the break.

In the second half, sophomore Rylee Joseph and Haylie Hakanson provided good depth off the bench for the Blue Jays and helped keep the lead even with Hegerle, Nabwe, and Falk on the bench with foul trouble.

Jamestown is back in action on Tuesday night against Bismarck High on the road, starting at 7:30. The Blue Jays will play three games this upcoming week, concluding with Turtle Mountain at home on Saturday at 7:00.
