This is our final update as we feature numerous Jamestown non-profit organizations participating in Giving Hearts Day on February 11th
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 24-hour fundraising event Giving Hearts Day makes a return to North Dakota and northwest Minnesota on Thursday, February 11th.
Since the first ever Giving Hearts Day in 2008, donors have given more than $90 million, with 100% raised going directly to participating charities. There are more than 490 different charities and impacts donors will be able to select during the event.
Locally, 16 organizations will participate in Jamestown. One of those non-profits is the Anne Carlsen Center. Kelsey Ost is the Associate Development Director for ACC.
Out of all participating organizations, the Anne Carlsen Center was the number one receiving organization in 2020.
Ost says they hope to use funding to continue supporting their programs and services in the region.
Another organization participating is the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. JRMC Foundation Director Lisa Jackson says they’ve relied on Giving Hearts Day donations in previous years to continue their operations, adding that the hospital continues to operate as a non-profit.
Jackson added that their growth and technology has been made possible by donations in the past.
Another organization is the University of Jamestown. Jim Klemann is the Director of Annual Giving and Jimmie Booster Club. He says the community collaboration they have with the other area non-profits has helped each of them grow.
He stated Giving Hearts Day has been a big reason they’ve been able to give as many scholarships as they do to current and incoming students at the University.
Last year, participating Jamestown non-profits collected close to $2 million in 24 hours.
Donations will be matched to their certain dollar amount through donations made strictly on Giving Hearts Day February 11th. If you wish to learn more or schedule and make a donation, visit givingheartsday.org or contact a local participating non-profit.
