CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) This past weekend was a busy one for Carrington fans as both boys and girls basketball teams, the wrestling team and the Cardinaires Dance team were all in action on Saturday, January 23rd. Here are the results:

RV Carrington 46 Rugby 38, girls hoops

Hannah Hagel and Sydnie Grager dropped in 12 points each and Lexi Page added 10 to help the Cardinals defeat the Rugby Panthers Saturday afternoon in Carrington in Class B girls non-region basketball action. The Cardinals led after each quarter including a 23-14 halftime lead. Leading the way for Rugby was Mykell Heidlebaugh with 11 points. Carrington improves to 10-3 overall, Rugby falls to 6-6 overall.

RV Ellendale 70 Carrington 39, boys hoops

On Saturday night in Carrington, Scott Wagner had 23 and Levi Reis added 17 to help the Cardinals of Ellendale defeat the Cardinals of Carrington in Class B District 5 basketball action. The first quarter featured ties at two and nine, but Ellendale pulled away and led 42-23 at the half. Carrington was led by Lucas Hendrickson with 19 and Hudson Schmitz added 13. Carrington drops to 1-1 in D5 and 6-7 overall, Ellendale improves to 3-0 in D5 and 10-1 overall.

Carrington Cardinaires @ State Dance in Jamestown

The Cardinaires competed at the State Dance competition on Saturday afternoon at the Civic Center. They took home first place in Pom, Kick and Jazz.

 

And, the Carrington wrestling team took second at the Region 2 duals in Casselton, Pembina County North took first. Both teams will advance to the State Wrestling tournament at the FargoDome February 18th-20th. For more info about the tourney, visit newsdakota.com.
