JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Weather has allowed Stutsman County Park staff to make progress on some projects this winter.

Park Board Superintendent Karl Bergh reported during the recent board meeting that they had been able to trench some electrical line.

Bergh says they have grant funding plans for benches and trees for the summer. He says planning is “well underway” and contacts are being established.

He says he is also accumulating materials and funds for swim buoys and ropes at the reservoir.

Bergh says he will continue looking at more traditional ropes and buoys at the beach. He says it would be doubled for both beaches they take care of.

It’s estimated roughly 1200 feet of rope and buoys for both swim beaches.

For camping, Bergh says they’re already half full for camping reservations on Memorial Day with Fourth of July already receiving reservations.

The park board will also be seeking camp hosts for the summer, but Bergh doesn’t believe there’ll be issue filling positions.
