Leading up to Giving Hearts Day on February 11th, we will feature several Jamestown non-profit organizations that will be participating.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 24-hour fundraising event Giving Hearts Day makes a return to North Dakota and northwest Minnesota on Thursday, February 11th.

Since the first ever Giving Hearts Day in 2008, donors have given more than $90 million, with 100% raised going directly to participating charities. There are more than 490 different charities and impacts donors will be able to select during the event.

Locally, 16 organizations will participate in Jamestown. One of those non-profits is the Jamestown Gymnastics Club. Andrea Clemens-Bitz is the Executive Director for the club.

Staff member Bre Carlson says their new space has been great, but they’d love to use funds raised during Giving Hearts Day to fill it with new equipment.

The club says their goal for Giving Hearts Day is $43,000 with some funds being matched through the event.

Another organization participating locally is the Freedom Resource Center. Beth Dewald is an Independent Living Advocate.

Dewald says Freedom Resource Center does advocacy for all individuals with disabilities.

The local Giving Hearts Day collaboration is allowing these organizations to work together to raise money for the many different causes they work towards and support.

Donations will be matched to their certain dollar amount through donations made strictly on Giving Hearts Day February 11th. If you wish to learn more or make a donation, visit givingheartsday.org or contact a local participating non-profit.
