GRAND FORKS, N.D (NewsDakota.com) – Grand Forks Red River used a 16-2 run in the to open up a 14 point lead that grew to 30 at one point in the second half in a 80-51 win over Valley City in high school girls basketball Thursday night in Grand Forks.
Jade Azure led the way for the Roughriders with 23 points as Red River stay unbeaten in the conference. Alex Page had 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Red River. Jocelyn Schiller had 14 points and Jasmine Sondrol chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. Ella Fossed added six points, six assists and six steals.
Brooke Eggermont led the Hi-Liners with 10 points and eight rebounds. Peyton Pederson had nine points and Jadyn Dieterle chipped in seven points and five rebounds.
The Hi-Liners fall to 2-4 overall and 1-5 in the Eastern Dakota Conference. This game counted for two points in the standings. Red River stays tied for first at 5-0 in the EDC and is 4-1 overall.
