Joyce Fath, 95, Valley City, ND passed away with family by her side at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on January 6, 2021. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM in Faith Lutheran Church, Valley City. Visitation will begin at 11:00 on Saturday morning. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery, Valley City. Guidelines regarding COVID 19 will be followed and masks are required in the church. Joyce Aileene Walters was born December 6, 1925 on the family farm north of Oriska, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Pauline (Kleiven) Walters. She grew up there and received her education and graduated from the Oriska High School in 1943. She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Oriska.

She married Richard Fath in Valley City, ND on December 8, 1943. They made their home in Valley City with the exception of five years when they moved to Tacoma, WA. When her children grew up, she worked for the Sweetheart Bread Company for 14 years before retiring. In 1998, Joyce moved into the Rudolph Square where she made many new friends and enjoyed living there.

She loved playing Bingo, cards and reading books until she lost her eyesight. Her favorite past time was being together with family.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Cindy Fath of Valley City and Joy (Ed) Lyter of Chandler, AZ and son-in-law, Mitch Thomas of Valley City. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Amy, Darren, Mark, Jennifer, Kelly and Jenna; three great grandchildren, Ashley, Dakota, and Steven; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Pauline Walters; husband, Dick Fath; daughter, Judy Thomas; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
