JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County State’s Attorney’s office has charged a 19-year-old with several charges after a police chase that ended early Monday morning on the Jamestown Reservoir.
Jon Schuldheisz is charged with eluding a peace officer, failure to halt, possession of drug paraphernalia-meth, and possession of a stolen vehicle, among other charges.
The charges stem from a Monday police chase that started after a pickup truck was reported stolen at 1:44 a.m. in northwest Jamestown. Schuldheisz led police on a pursuit that ended on the ice-covered Jamestown Reservoir. Schuldheisz was quickly apprehended and taken to the Stutsman County Correctional Center. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
Reports say that the vehicle fell through the ice as crews were seeking to retrieve the vehicle. The pickup sank upwards of 20 feet below the surface. No injuries were reported from the incident.
