JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Coach Tommy Neinhaus returned home to Jamestown Monday after spending over a month in the ICU due to COVID-19 complications.

Nienhaus left Sanford Hospital in Fargo Monday midday and was greeted by a caravan of supporters and wellwishers as he traveled I-94 approaching Jamestown.  Community members met near the Bloom exit and escorted Nienhaus to Harold Newman Arena where a reception was held.

Nienhaus contracted COVID-19 in early November and was admitted to the hospital, later the ICU, when his condition became severe. Nienhaus was cleared to leave the ICU last week after making improvements in his condition.  While he may be out of the hospital, Nienhaus is still recovering from the virus.  Nienhaus is the head men’s soccer coach at the University of Jamestown.
