JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After opening the season with two road games, the Blue Jay girls hockey team played its home opener Tuesday night vs Bismarck at Wilson Arena.
The blizzard extended their winning streak to 13 straight games over Jamestown with a 5-2 victory.
Neither team scored in the first with each putting six shots on net.
Period two was a different story as Bismarck outshot Jamestown 25-2 and slipped a couple of pucks past Senior goalie Erika Anderson.
Senior Ella Roaldson and Senior Sydney Mittleider banged in goals in the third for the Blue Jays but Bismarck responded with three goals of their own including Freshman Brenna Curl scoring her state leading fifth of the season.
The blizzard improved to 3-0 and outshot Jamestown 47 to 14. The Jays slide to 1-2.
Next up for Jamestown is a home game with Minot on December 29th at 1:30 pm.
