JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Tuesday at noon, the first shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Stutsman County.

The Moderna vaccine arrived at Central Valley Health, allowing health officials to begin vaccinating those of high priority, including first responders, frontline healthcare workers, and public health staff.  Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says they are just one organization in the county receiving the vaccine this week, which they are excited about.

Next week, Central Valley Health will receive additional doses in order to vaccinate those in nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

Iszler says that they are asking for the public’s patience while more shipments of the vaccine continue to become available.  CVH is not taking a waiting list and is vaccinating groups of people based on guidance from the state.  Iszler says they will work through their priority groups as the vaccination process continues.

Iszler says they will continue their regular COVID-19 testing.  Upcoming testing dates can be found here.  In addition to CVH, the Jamestown Regional Medical Center received 200 doses of the Moderna vaccines.  JRMC will begin vaccinating employees on Wednesday.
