Jamestown, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The top ranked Jamestown boy’s basketball team put 13 players into the scoring column and cruised to a 83-51 victory over Bismarck St. Mary’s Saturday afternoon at Jerry Meyer Arena. Carson Lamp (6′ senior) paced the Blue Jays for the second time in as many outings with a game high 16 points, included a game high 4 made 3-pointers. Devin Beach (6’3 junior) & Keith Levin (6’7 senior) added 10 points each. Beach’s points coming off the bench, aided 37 total bench points as the Jays bench outscored the Saints bench 37-3 in the game. Adam Kallenbach (6′ junior), 9 points & Kade Schumacher (6’1 senior) 7 points were the top bench scorers. Brooks Carroll (6’3 senior) 6 points and Ty Monson (6’2 senior) added 7 points. Shea Carroll (5’10 senior) also added 7 points and added 4 steals and created several others as he hounded St. Mary’s ball handlers all afternoon which led to 16 Saint turnovers.
The Jays jumped out to a 18-lead early in the first half and built a 38-19 halftime lead. The lead went to 34 points at it’s peak late in the second half at 77-43 before the 83-51 final score.
Nick Schumacher paced the Saints with 14 points & Nathan Fedorchak added 12 points. Zach Haas also chipped in 8 points for the Saints. The Blue Jays improved to 2-0 (2-0 WDA) and St. Mary’s dropped to 0-3 (0-3 WDA). Next up for the Blue Jays, they will travel to Minot on December 29th to play Minot High at 7:30 P.M.
