FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – 47 year-old Jason Simeon of Glyndon, MN is dead following a crash on I-29 in Fargo just before 7pm Tuesday, December 15th.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said around 6:51pm a trooper attempting to stop Simeon’s vehicle northbound on I-29. He was wanted by the Clay County, Minnesota Sheriff’s Office for 1st Degree Sexual Assault.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Captain Bryan Niewind said troopers located the suspects vehicle, a 2007 Dodge Durango, and attempted to stop it on I-29 in Fargo. Seconds after the troopers activated their emergency lights, the vehicle accelerated away from troopers, swerved to the right and struck a bridge pillar for the I-94 overpass head on.
The driver, Simeon was the lone occupant. He was pronounced dead on scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the NDHP.
