NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Rockets of New Rockford/Sheyenne jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and kept the lead the rest of the contest as they go on to defeat the Cardinals of Carrington 52-23 in the season opener for both teams in Class B Boys basketball.
The Rockets held the Cardinals to just 13 first half points, leading 24-13 at the break. NR/S outscored Carrington 20-4 in the third quarter, including 11 points from Evan Ulrich. The 6’7″ Senior Forward Ulrich had a game high 19 points for the Rockets, 6’4″ Junior Guard Nick Berglund added 11. Carrington was led by 6′ Junior Guard Lucas Hendrickson with 11.
Next up for Carrington will be on Saturday at home against Benson County.
