CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – CHI St. Alexius Health Marketing President Mariann Doeling is seeing some encouraging trends in the area regarding COVID-19.

Doeling says with their lab, they continue to test for COVID-19. She says the week before Thanksgiving, they saw an increase in requests.

Doeling says along with a decrease in testing, they’re also seeing fewer admissions to the hospital. She added that they’re stressing the need for those who need their routine care to do so.

She says they continue to deep clean their clinic and rooms, separating COVID-19 patients from routine patients, and more.

Doeling says if all remains lower in regards to COVID-19, the New Rockford Clinic may also reopen as well within the next few weeks.

In regards to the COVID-19 vaccine, Doeling says they’re getting word it could arrive by the third week of December.

All healthcare type workers will be prioritized to receive the vaccine first. This includes hospital, nursing home, dentists, optometrists, and more. The most vulnerable population in communities would be vaccinated next, which are typically those in a nursing home setting.
