On Wednesday, December 2, 2020, Darlene Ann Windingland went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her family. Darlene was born in Halstad, Minnesota on November 24, 1940 to Carl and Clara (Hage) Halstad. She graduated from Halstad High School. She married Alan Windingland November 17, 1972. They lived on the family farm in Luverne, ND prior to moving to Valley City in 1989.

Darlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends and embraced a strong faith in the Lord. She had a huge heart and always put others first. She will be dearly missed.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alan, with whom they shared daughters; Denise (Kyle) Kieselhorst and Tami Good, sons; Ross (Caroline), Alan Lee (Holly), Steve (Jodi), and Cory (Gayle). She is also survived by her siblings; Eugene (Janice) Halstad, Arnold (Maria) Halstad and Evelyn Halvorson; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Allen, June, Helen, Vernon and Deloris.

Visitation will be noon to 1pm Saturday, December 5 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Valley City.  A private family memorial service will be held at the church with inurnment at the Lund Cemetery, Luverne, North Dakota.
