Valley City, ND (NewsDakota.com) – A Valley City man and two of his dogs were rescued after they fell through the ice on the Sheyenne River in Valley City on Saturday, November 28th about 1:40pm.
Valley City Fire & Rescue Team members along with the assistance of the Valley City Police Department and Barnes County Sheriff’s Office helped get the man and his dogs out of the water. The man was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office is reminding people to stay off the Sheyenne River being the ice layer is extremely thin from mild temperatures.
