JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Salvation Army is calling upon the community to help them reach their goal of $151,000 for the 2020 Red Kettle Campaign.

Major Judy Lowder knows it’s a lofty goal and it will be an uphill climb, but believes they can do it with volunteer and community support.

Lowder says during the campaign, which runs through the end of December, allows the Salvation Army not only to operate during the winter, but for the entirety of 2021.

She adds that because of the pandemic, they have safety precautions in place at their kettles and the ability to make a difference virtually.

Lowder stresses that if their goal is not met, the community may lose some of the vital services that the Salvation Army provides in Stutsman County.

There’s a need to fill hours at the different kettle points in Jamestown. Lowder reports they have around 1,400 hours to fill kettle space and ring bells, but have only filled about 60 hours. Clubs, families, and businesses are encouraged to challenge one another and ring a bell this holiday season.
