Oakes Mayor

OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – During the city council meeting on November 4th, Oakes Mayor Monty Zimmer brought up the idea of a mask mandate within the city of Oakes.  While no formal plan has been put in place, Mayor Zimmer said he will place the topic before the city council during the December meeting.  Until then, Zimmer and the council is encouraging residents to take personal responsibility and wear a mask if social distancing is not possible.

Mayor Zimmer said he may call a special city council meeting to expedite the mandate if the number continue their drastic rise.

Zimmer noted the long list of obituaries in recent weeks  is contributing to this mask mandate consideration.
