FARGO,N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City as a team had 16 kills, Grace Solberg of Fargo Davies equaled that, plus five as the senior outside hitter led the Eagles to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-16) sweep of Valley City in the quarterfinals of the East Region Volleyball Tournament at the Eagle Gym.

Solberg 21 kills, 15 in the last two sets to lead the Eagles offense. Olivia Marcil had nine kills, Ava Wild had eight along with four blocks. Maggie Krueger added 35 assists for Davies.

The Hi-Liners were led by Peyton Pederson and Samantha Hatcher wit six kills each. Jocey Kriewald led the defense with 17 digs and Jadyn Dieterle had two blocks. Dylann Diegel had 11 assists for the Hi-Liners who had their three match winning streak snapped.

Valley City will now host Fargo North in a loser out match at the Hi-Liner Activity Center Thursday night at 7pm. The seventh seeded Spartans lost at West Fargo Sheyenne 3-1. The Mustangs will host Davie Thursday in a semifinal match.

The Hi-Liner/Fargo North match can be heard on 1490AM/96.3 FM KOVC beginning with the pregame at 6:45 and the first serve at 7pm
