JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Today is the biggest unofficial holiday in North Dakota.

The North Dakota Deer Gun season opens at 12 PM today and runs through Sunday, November 22nd. Game & Fish Outreach Biologist Doug Leier says the beginning to this day carries a lot of weight for hunters all across the state.

Leier added that field conditions will provide a better advantage for the hunters this year. He says there was an increase in tags from 2019.

Leier says safety should remain at the top of everyone’s list too.

You can find a list of commonly asked questions on the North Dakota Game & Fish Department’s website. You can click here for that information.

Listen to Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:35 AM on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning.
