JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A record number of positive COVID-19 cases were reported for Stutsman County Tuesday.
Central Valley Health District Unit Administrator Robin Iszler reports 86 new cases were reported. There are currently 267 active cases and 10 deaths reported in Stutsman County. Iszler says the positivity rate is currently at 13.7%, below the state average.
20 to 69 years of age are seeing the highest amount of COVID-19 cases, which are being spread through the community.
Iszler says if these trends continue, Stutsman County could be bumped up to the Orange risk level for COVID-19 in North Dakota.
Iszler says until recently, the county had been doing a great job at limiting community spread.
Iszler says community testing events at the University of Jamestown and Jamestown Civic Center have been busy, having recently run out of testing supplies during the last community testing event.
Jamestown Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech added that while COVID-19 transmission wasn’t happening in the schools, he says they were still seeing the impact of community spread.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 1,147 total positive COVID-19 cases in Stutsman County.
