LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The LaMoure/Litchville-Marion Loboes are one step closer to reaching the Dakota Bowl and game in the warm confines of the Fargodome. Saturday, the Loboes brushed off a strong wind and a strong North Border team for a 32-0 win and a berth in the state semifinals.
The Loboes scored in the first quarter on a 22 yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Corbin Potts to sophomore tight end Colton Ness. The two-point conversion failed the the Loboes had a 6-0 lead after one quarter.
LLM would add two more scores in the second quarter. Potts called his own number from two yards out. The failed PAT run made it 12-0 Loboes. The Brett Wendel got in the mix with a 12 yard touchdown run to make it 18-0 at the half.
The Loboes would get two more scores in the third quarter. Potts and Ness hooked up for a 18 yard scoring strike. Anthony Hanson would score the two point conversion to make it 26-0 Loboes.
Wendel would cap the scoring with a 8 yard touchdown run to make it 32-0. The PAT run was no good.
The Loboes held the Eagles down after that. North Border had been averaging 36 points per game coming into the contest, with 14 their lowest output. And that was against Cavalier in week two.
Potts finished 6 of 12 passing for 80 yards and the two scores. He added another 33 on the ground in four carries. Brett Wendel had 215 yards on 37 carries and two scores, giving him 18 on the season. Colton Ness caught four passes for 62 yards and two touchdown, giving him 18 of those on the season.
LaMoure/Litchville-Marion will take on Linton/HMB in the semifinals Saturday afternoon at Townsend Field. Kickoff is slated for 2pm with the pregame at 1:45 on 1220AM/95.9FM KDDR The Tornado.
