Carrington, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—-The Carrington Cardinal’s girls volleyball team defeated Griggs/Midkota 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-22) and secured the number two seed in the upcoming District 5 tournament. Carrington improved to 10-4 overall and 5-1 in District 5 play. The Titans of Griggs/Midkota dropped to 4-9 overall and 3-3 in District 5 play.

Carrington’s Hannah Hagel (5’11 senior outside hitter) had a match high 14 kills, 2 aces, and 2 stuff blocks. Haley Wolsky (10 kills), Sydnie Grager (9 kills), and Taryn Hoeckle (8 kills) aided the Cardinal offense.

The Titans were led by Jenna Larson (6’1 junior outside hitter) with 12 kills and 2 stuff blocks. Asia Becherl added 8 kills for Griggs/Midkota.

Carrington will travel to Napoleon Tuesday night, the match will be aired on AM 1600 KDAK (THE CARDINAL), FM 100.1, and www.newsdakota.com starting around 7:00 P.M.
