Carrington N.D. (NewsDakota.com)—–The Carrington Cardinals needed extra points in all 3 of their set victories to defeat the Kidder County (KC) Wolves 3-1 (28-26, 27-25, 18-25, 32-30). The Wolves had large leads i n both the first 2 sets including a 19-10 lead in set 2 but could not close out the Cardinals in either set. Kidder County also led 22-16 in the final set before Carrington rallied for a 24-23 lead before ending the match with a thrilling 32-30 victory.
Carrington was led by 5’11 senior outside hitter Hannah Hagel with a team high 19 kills. Sydnie Grager (6′ junior middle blocker) added 15 kills and 3 stuff blocks for the Cards. Taryn Hoeckle and Haley Wolsky added 9 kills each to aid the Cardinal’s offense. Wolsky added a match high 4 service aces.
The Wolves were paced by 5’10 sophomore Kennedy Harter with a match high 25 kills, 4 service aces, and 3 stuff blocks. Madelyn Schmidt added 12 kills and Hailey Pfaff added 9 kills for Kidder County.
