OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two drivers escaped serious injuries after a pickup ran into the back of a semi trailer south of Oakes on Monday, October 12th around 7:50pm.

Dickey County Sheriff Chris Estes said the driver of the pickup a 19 year-old man got out of the vehicle that caught on fire at the scene following the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Fire & Rescue crews were assisted at the scene by Dickey County Sheriff’s Deputies, Oakes Police Department and the Oakes Ambulance Service.
