Gerald Elmer Seidlinger was born in Jamestown, ND on February 4, 1960 to Elmer and Dorothy (Larson) Seidlinger.  He grew up and attended school in Wimbledon, ND, graduating in 1978.  Following high school, he went on to attend NDSCS where he studied HVAC and then VCSU to study business.

On August 18, 2001, Jerry married Kimberly Wagner at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Valley City. They made their home in Valley City until moving to their farm near Oriska in 2004.  After Jerry finished school, he opened up an HVAC business and fixed appliances in the area.  He started working with Sure Way Systems and soon became the manager.  The company has changed names many times over the years, but Jerry continued as manager until the time of his death.

Building and fixing things came easy to Jerry.  He enjoyed tinkering around with all sorts of things.  He also found much joy in being outdoors, especially going hunting and fishing.  He entered countless fishing tournaments with Eugene Pederson.  He was a past member of the Barnes County Wildlife Club.

During the last few years, Jerry became active with his sons and wife in Boy Scouts.  He was the project coach for Cody’s Eagle Scout project and was currently working with Wyatt on his.  He’d signed up to become a Merit Badge Counselor as well.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Kim; sons, Cody and Wyatt; brother, James (Liza) Seidlinger; sisters, Dorothy Stevens and Jean (Harold) Ust; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Witcher.
