Myron Trangsrud, age 86, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, October 6th at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND due to medical conditions associated with pneumonia, leukemia, and COVID-19. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 13th at Elim Evangelical Free Church in Valley City. Due to COVID 19, ND State Health Department regulations will be followed and masks will be required. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday morning. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Valley City, ND.
Myron Arlington Trangsrud, the son of Ben and Clara Trangsrud was born August 9th, 1934 on the Trangsrud farm. Myron grew up in the Enderlin, ND area and attended rural school and graduated from Enderlin School. Myron met Lois Jorgenson and married the love of his life on August 25th. 1957. The couple made their home in Valley City, ND, where Myron worked at Culligans and Valley City Public Works before his retirement.
He enjoyed country music, playing his accordion, bowling, horseshoes, dancing and playing cards. HE loved being around family, friends and was very well known by many. He had a big heart and a big smile. Myron brought so much joy to everyone around him.
He was a member of Elim Free Church, Barnes County Wildlife Club, VFW Post 2764, and the Valley City Eagles Club.
Myron is survived by his three children, Danette (Dale) Knudson, Janeen (Gary) Anderson both of Valley City and Lonny (Jodi) Trangsrud of Eau Claire, WI; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lyla Trangsrud; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois; his parents; a brother; and 6 sisters.
Myron will truly be missed.
