JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Commission moved unanimously to name Jessica Alonge as interim Stutsman County Auditor and COO Tuesday.

The move follows the resignation of former Auditor and COO Nicole Meland. Meland’s last day was October 2nd.

Commission Chairman Mark Klose stated that a committee had been put together in September to fill the role. Klose says they have met three times since September.

The commission unanimously approved. Klose says they’ll also be looking to fill the other Auditor/COO duties. He brought forth a proposed contract with Nicole Meland to assist on an hourly basis as needed.

The commission also unanimously approved that motion.

A motion was also made to advertise the Auditor/COO position and there was a proposal to reassign some duties to different personnel without adding additional staff.

Klose says nothing is final at this time as they continue to discuss this with their formed committee.

In other commission business, the commissioners moved to hold their meetings at 8 AM on a trial basis from now until the final meeting of the current commission. The motion was unanimously approved.
