CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Carrington Public Schools has a new superintendent.

Kris Kuehn was hired on this summer to take the position after Dr. Brian Duchscherer announced his retirement in January of this year.

Born and raised in Southern Montana near Billings, Kuehn graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula and has spent the last 27 years teaching in Malta, Montana. He and his wife Carmen have now moved to the Central City in search of a new challenge.

Kuehn says there are a lot of similarities between Malta and Carrington as he works to adjust to his role as Superintendent for the district.

Kuehn says one of the biggest challenges so far is navigating through COVID-19. That was discussed at the recent Carrington School Board meeting.

Kuehn adds that just being able to be back in the schools has been positive for staff, students, and families.
