JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Wednesday night in the city.
Lt. Nick Hardy reports the call came in at around 8:35 PM to a reported stabbing near the Park Plaza Mall in SE Jamestown.
“The caller stated the male was in their building and the person with the knife was not there,” Lt. Hardy stated.
A 63 year-old male was located inside with a stab wound to his abdomen. Officer’s secured the scene and gave the male medical attention until Jamestown Ambulance arrived.
Jamestown Ambulance transported the male to Jamestown Regional Medical Center and he was airlifted to a Fargo hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“There was a person of interest identified and interviewed but no arrests have been made,” Lt. Hardy reported.
The stabbing may have happened on the South side of the Park Plaza Mall or in McElroy Park. Police believe evidence may have been dropped between the Park Plaza Mall all the way to 13th Avenue SE, and between 10th street and 13th street. You’re asked that if you find any suspicious items in yards or dumpster, to contact police.
The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department.
