MINOT, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – Since dropping the opening set of the season the Jamestown Blue Jays (3-0) have won nine straight sets after defeating Minot (0-1) Thursday night 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-19).
In the Jays first road match of the season, the match started out in a seesaw-like battle. Ella Roaldson came out red hot for the Jays recording flour kills and an ace in the first set. Roaldson finished tied for a team high with eight kills. Jamestown scored four in a row to close out the opening set.
Set number two was not close. After a dominating 25-11 2nd set, the Jays have outscored opponents 75-32 in 2nd sets this season.
Set three was a come-from-behind win to keep their set streak alive. For the match, five different Jays recorded at least four kills. Roaldson and Grace Hegerle lead the way with eight kills each and Katie Falk had 7.
Jamestown travels to Bismarck Tuesday to play the Demons looking to go 4-0 on the young season.
