JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Elks Lodge in Jamestown called on the community to support Safe Shelter’s Mary’s Place with donations.
The community responded in a major way.
“Nationally the Elks have shifted some focus to helping others who make a positive impact in our communities, Loyal Knight Clay Greenwood stated. “We at Lodge 995 in Jamestown were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to do just that. Along with the monetary donation, we held a supply drive at our lodge, and I was blown away by the generosity of our members.”
Together as a community, the Elks Lodge was able to donate over 100 products through the donation drive, gas gift card, cash and a check from the lodge in the amount of $2,000.
The Elks Lodge received donations through the month of August, asking for everything from disinfected wipes and spray, hand sanitizers, toilet paper, floor cleaner, dish soap and more. They also accepted gas cards, gift cards, and encouraged cash donations.
Those still interested in donating can do so at safeshelter.org.
