JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) Business Attraction Committee received the latest information regarding several projects in the area.

JSDC Business Development Director Corry Shevlin gave the latest surrounding the new greenhouse project at the Spiritwood Energy Park with the letter of intent approved for Glass Investment’s Projects, LLC.

Shevlin says the project is looking at a Spring groundbreaking and hopes to be ready by the end of the year in 2021. The 30 acre project will be a greenhouse to grow tomatoes and other vegetables year round.

The project would be built just south of the Dakota Spirit AgEnergy Plant.

The greenhouse is expected to provide upwards of 120 full-time jobs. Shevlin adds that the company’s existing agreements with different companies including Walmart would allow them to be distributors to the area and potentially the Minneapolis & Chicago regions.

In other project information, Shevlin says work still continues on “Project X” at the Spiritwood Energy Park.

JSDC Executive Director Connie Ova stated they should have had a yes or no from the company on moving forward by August 31st, but the COVID-19 Pandemic has pushed things back.

The JSDC also continues to work with the North Dakota Army National Guard and Jamestown Regional Airport on the proposed facility to be built in the Airport Business Park.
