JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Anna Westerman’s Grandpa will be turning 90 this year, so she wanted to make it extra special.

Gathering friends, equipment, a director, and more, she set out to create a western movie that will be shown to her grandfather back in Minnesota. Westerman and her crew spent Wednesday and Thursday filming at Fort Seward & the Frontier Village in Jamestown for the movie.

Traveling from Sauk Centre, MN, Westerman and family members used the historic sites in Jamestown for the movie scenes. She says they’re accustomed to the region because they have been long participants in the Fort Seward Wagon Train.

Westerman says other participants and family members traveled to Jamestown to help make the movie.

When asked why they decided to go all out with a director and film crew, she said they wanted the movie to be the best it could.

Westerman says when filming and editing is complete, they hope to have a family watch party to celebrate her grandpa’s 90th birthday.
