JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Building, Planning, & Zoning Committee has approved to move forward with an assessment of the five-year Land Use & Transportation plan.

Scott Harmstead with SRF Consulting Group has been assisting the city with planning items for the past four years. He stated that the current plan was first adopted in 2015.

Harmstead says assessing the current plan would allow for them to explore planning and zoning, housing, and more to prioritize implementation.

It’s customary for a city to analyze their land use and transportation plan every five years.

Mayor Dwaine Heinrich inquired if there would be opportunity to change and prioritize different projects included in the current plan.

Harmestead informed the committee that it was possible to prioritize different projects within the plan. The committee unanimously approved the assessment at a maximum of $13,819 to SRF Consulting Group Inc.
