JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Due to sanitary reasons, the Jamestown Civic Center remains closed to walkers and the general public.

However, Jamestown Civic Center Director Pam Fosse says they are continuing to rent out the space for meetings and events.

Smaller meetings, gatherings, and functions that fall within the guidelines have been allowed to rent the space and Exchequer room as needed.

Fosse added that the ND Smart Restart guidelines allow for only 500 or 75% capacity at sites such as the Civic Center. This means events like the rodeos won’t be held this year.

When it comes to fall and winter tournaments, Councilmember Dave Steele asked if there was anything different for those types of events.

Fosse stated she has been in contact with all events that are planned for the fall and winter at the Civic Center. All events intend to move forward as of now.

Fosse says they’ve been sending letters to all events listing guidelines that must be followed including physical distancing and the preference they wear masks. She says these are based of Governor Doug Burgum’s guidelines provided at the state level.
