JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Kiwanis Club has come up with a unique fundraiser to help area nonprofits dealing with the negative effects of the pandemic.
Kiwanis member Katie Ryan-Anderson says the idea came to her as she continued to work long hours at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Ryan-Anderson added that she has seen firsthand what the pandemic has done to area nonprofits.
The Mystery Bag Raffle features prizes ranging from $100 to $500 of items inside different bags, with all proceeds going to help area nonprofit organizations. 11 mystery bags have been compiled by the Jamestown Kiwanis Club for the raffle, which continues through August 30th.
After that, the Kiwanis Action Club will draw winners on Facebook live on September 1st.
The event is also being held to makeup for the Kiwanis Club cancelling their annual pancake feed, which has raised thousands for area nonprofits in the past.
Ryan-Anderson says the response to the fundraiser has been amazing, having raised more than $3,800 that will stay local.
Tickets are $19 for one and $50 for three and are available through August 30th by visiting the Jamestown Kiwanis Club on Facebook or emailing jamestownkiwanis@gmail.com.
