JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Elks Lodge #995 of Jamestown hosted two Burger Appreciation nights last week with a special invite to our Hometown Heroes and immediate family from 8 local departments.
These departments include that ND Game and Fish, Ringdahl-Jamestown Area Ambulance, Jamestown Fire & Rescue, Jamestown Rural Fire Department, ND Highway Patrol, Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Jamestown Police Department and the BCI, under direction of the Elks Lodge’s head chef Dave Greenwood.
“The members of the Elks lodge are grateful for all the things and people we’ve card about that our hometown heroes have cared about,” the Elks Club stated. “The real heroes are those that are working to protect us and keep us safe each day just like all our local departments we had the honor to serve. While they are often overlooked in the community, they never hesitate to come running to save people in all kinds of emergency situations, and that’s exactly why we, the Elks, had the honor to show our appreciation for you, for what you do for our community.”
The community through the Elks Club Facebook page nominated an individual whom they believe is a hometown hero.
“It is our honor on behalf of the Elks Lodge, members for our community to present to you our ‘2020 Honorable Hometown Hero’ from the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Department, Ciara McPherson,” the Elks Club announced.
Ciara was chosen on behalf of the following nomination recognition:
“She works for the Sheriff’s Dept. in Stutsman County, working both security at the courthouse and the community on patrol. Before that, she was the Victim Witness Advocate for the county, helping hundreds of those who were victims of a crime and needed a voice! Ciara is one of the most selfless people I ever met and has a heart of gold. She works so incredibly hard, has a true passion for what she does, and amazing communication skills with the community. She treats each person with the respect and dignity they deserve. Whether on or off the clock, she will always help where needed. Hardworking, caring, trustworthy, down to earth, but most of all loving to all. If you need a smile or a laugh on a down day, she’s your girl! Ciara is an amazing representation of a hometown hero everyday! Our community could benefit for having her in every department in town. She is a great asset.”
“Congratulations & thank you to our hometown heroes of each department,” the Elks Club stated. “No words seem adequate to express our admiration and gratitude for the brave men and women who run towards the danger to selflessly save others. We look forward to honoring our hometown healthcare heroes in the near future!”
