JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Once bids were approved for the new Meidinger Splash Park, the Two Rivers Activity Center (TRAC) hit the ground running.
Bids totalling $1.4 million were accepted by the Jamestown Parks & Recreation Commission in July. Covered entirely by a grant and lead donation by Shirley Meidinger, the park is estimated to be completed by spring of 2021.
TRAC Facilities Manager Amy Walters says they will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the new splash park on Wednesday at 4:30 PM.
Walters added that they’re excited that this next phase of TRAC will be taking shape this fall.
TRAC is also currently offering bricks as a way to donate and leave a legacy on the $3 million project. Bricks will be installed in the Spring of 2021.
The site will include a bath house, water features to include three elevated activity stations with four slides, multiple fountains, and splash zones. There will also be a multi-use court for basketball and pickle ball as well as sand volleyball courts and bocce fields. There will also be a large grass space for free play.
