VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Sheyenne Valley Special Education Unit is proud to honor Tracey Zaun, who has been named ND Special Education Director of the Year. She was nominated and voted by her colleagues across the state of North Dakota.

One of those colleagues expressed that this honor reflects Mrs. Zaun’s great service to students with disabilities, as well as her outstanding leadership. Mrs. Zaun will be celebrated at the Sheyenne Valley Special Education board meeting on Friday, August 21, 2020.

Mrs. Zaun began her career as the SVSEU Special Education Director in July of 2015. She is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all special education staff and students in
the local school districts of Valley City, Oakes, Barnes County North, Hope-Page, and Maple Valley. Prior to being hired as director, Mrs. Zaun worked as a Speech Language Pathologist for many years. She is a compassionate and conscientious leader.

Mrs. Zaun is always researching and communicating with colleagues to do what is best for students, families, and staff, not only for Sheyenne Valley Special Education, but for the entire state of North Dakota.
