CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A second COVID-19 Mass Testing event is slated to be held today in Foster County after a spike in positive cases.

Foster County Public Information Officer Danielle Koepplin reports that the county was contacted by the North Dakota Department of Health due to some clusters of cases within Foster County.

Foster County Public Health Unit Administrator Lisa Hilbert says this mass testing event has changed location and they’re welcoming any and all to be tested.

Koepplin added that those who intend to be tested can pre-register at testreg.nd.gov.

Koepplin says positive results will be notified by phone within 1 to 3 days. Negative results will be notified by phone within 3 to 5 days, but may take longer based on state lab processing.

You’re asked to wear a mask to the event, bring your driver’s license, and leave your pets at home. You also don’t need to be a resident of the county to be tested.

The testing event will run from 2 to 6 PM at the Carrington City Park and is open to all ages. There is no cost and no insurance information will be collected.

Hilbert says they’ll begin testing in their clinic and hospital in the future.

Hilbert says many people may be positive for COVID-19 but are not yet showing symptoms.
