JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The ongoing pandemic hasn’t slowed down the adoptions at the James River Humane Society.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the humane shelter closed their doors to the general public. However, board member Jay Nitschke says they’re still doing adoptions through appointments.

Nitschke says it’s important they keep their animals and volunteers safe because the non-profit relies on fundraising and donations to continue operations.

Even with the doors closed, Nitschke says pet adoptions are still ongoing at a good pace.

Nitschke says with COVID-19, they’ve been unable to host any fundraisers. She says anyone willing to make a donation can help out by either becoming a member, making a donation to PO Box 636, Jamestown, or visit www.jamesriverhumanesociety.org.
