SANBORN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County is the new land of 10,000 lakes as water continues to rise and cover roadway surfaces. The biggest project right now is raising the road across a portion of Hobart Lake.

Barnes County Highway Road Superintendent Kerry Johnson said the $1.5 million federal safety project is raising the road by four feet with more water coming into Hobart Lake.

He said the project was scheduled to be completed by August 15th but it may take longer.

The county is working on several other projects requiring their contractors to work on roads and hill slides this summer in Barnes County due to high water levels.

The full interviews with Kerry Johnson concerning several Barnes County road projects are attached below.

The second interview centers on the update concerning the culvert replacement on Barnes County Road 19 northwest of the U.S. Fish Hatchery.
