VALLEY CITY, N.D. (Evin Casey/NewsDakota.com – After enduring a cancellation on Wednesday and a rainout on Friday, the Valley City Saints finally got back to action on Sunday. We got ahead early 6-0 after 4 innings and cruised to a 7-3 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead Mets.
David Whitaker pitched 7 strong innings only giving up one unearned run. Matthew Suda only went 1-for-1 with a double but scored three times. JT Reed and Jake Miller had 2 RBI’s a piece. Reed also stole three bases.
The Met’s starting pitcher, Valley City native Tom Paulsen allowed six hit and seven runs in six innings. Four of the the runs were earned. He walked three and fanned seven.
Next game for the Saints will be this Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Charlie Brown Field against the Enderlin Indies in a makeup game from Friday, July 17th due to the severe weather in the area. It will also be J&S Marketing Night at the ballpark.
