JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse has been having a summer that will join its already storied history.

Site Supervisor Steve Reidburn says the biggest hurdle they’ve had to clear and work around is the COVID-19 Pandemic. This includes the newest exhibits that were installed earlier this year.

Even with the coronavirus, Reidburn says they’ve been having a very successful season so far.

Another historic moment for the courthouse is the Southeast Judicial District holding jury trials inside the historic building for the first time in nearly 40 years.

Reidburn says members of the public will be able to be part of the historic moment the next time a jury trial will be held in the building. He says the next trial, if it’s not settled, is set for Tuesday, July 28th.

The courthouse is also looking forward to being part of the annual Buffalo Days on Saturday, July 25th with a concert at the courthouse featuring Linda & Terry Schwartz.

The concert will be free and open to the public beginning at 1 PM.

Hours of operation for the site is Wednesdays through Sundays. You can like the 1883 Historic Stutsman County Courthouse on Facebook for the latest updates, visit history.nd.gov or call 701-252-1170.
