
NAPOLEON, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – An 18 year-old Kintyre woman was cited after causing a crash in Napoleon Sunday, July 12th.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that 18 year-old Sophia Svanes was traveling on Highway 3 just before 11 PM in a Pontiac. Svanes was rapidly accelerating when she rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 17 year-old juvenile. The force of the collision caused the Pontiac to leave the roadway and strike a house.
The homeowner was notified of the crash at 506 Broadway in Napoleon. Svanes was transported by Napoleon Ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck for non-life threatening injuries. Both juveniles in the other vehicle were not injured.
Svanes was cited for Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving. The crash remains under investigation.
