LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – LaMoure’s lineup kicked off the game with a two run homer in the first inning and ended the game with a solo shot in the 8th inning to top Oakes 9-8.

Center fielder Jace Hanson, who diced Oakes apart on the mound last Wednesday in a ten run victory, was the hero Wednesday night at home. With one out and the bases empty, Hanson blasted a towering flyball over the right field fence off of Oakes reliever Brady McKenna.

The walk-off homer was a fitting way to end a game that saw four lead changes and saw LaMoure erase a four run deficit headed into the bottom of the 6th inning.

Other highlights from the game included LaMoure starter Mac Biermann smacking a two run no-doubter in the opening frame, Oakes first baseman Conor Schall collecting three more RBI for the season and LaMoure shortstop Corban Potts doing the same.

With the win, LaMoure takes the season series over Oakes 2-0 and will be the District 7 number one seed for the tournament at the end of July.

As for Oakes, they have now dropped two games in a row, both against LaMoure. They’ll try to close out the regular season on a high note at the Enderlin Woodbat Tournament July 11-12 and at Lisbon July 15.
