DICKEY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The streets of Dickey, ND will be filled with the delicious aroma of ribs on Saturday, July 11th.
The 11th annual Sweet N’ Stickey in Dickey Rib Cook-off has become a community tradition in the LaMoure County community. Whether you’re there to eat or there to cook, the rib cook-off will welcome everyone.
Organizer Chrissy Kartes says rib enthusiasts, both amateur and pro, are welcome to try their hand at cooking up some of their delicious ribs for the cause.
More than 30 cooks participated in the cook-off in 2019 and Kartes says they already have a great number of cooks signed up for this year.
Those interested in joining the rib cook-off are asked to register by July 8th. The cost is $40 for the entry fee and individuals can enter their recipe in the contest.
Once the ribs are cooked, the public can taste all the ribs for a free-will donation that will also be given to the Hospice of the Red River Valley. Judges will later submit their results at 5:30 PM. The people’s choice ribs will later be served out of the town hall beginning at 7 PM.
The event organizers will provide gloves and masks for people who wish to wear them. They also encourage attendees to follow social distancing guidelines to the best of their ability.
